Austin + Checker is a London-based art advisory founded by long standing friends Pia Austin-Little and Polly Checker. Drawing on our shared passion for art and three decades of combined experience in the commercial art world, we advise private and corporate collectors and interior designers internationally.

We offer a bespoke, collaborative and transparent service helping clients to discover inspiring works and build collections shaped by curatorial expertise, comprehensive market insight and privileged access to the art world.

Whether introducing collectors to emerging voices or sourcing significant works by more established names, every acquisition is approached with care, ensuring it resonates not only aesthetically, but intellectually and emotionally within the wider context of a collection.

  • Pia spent twelve years at Vigo Gallery, where she served as a Director, after beginning her career at Haunch of Venison. At Vigo, she worked closely with both emerging and established artists, led all aspects of gallery operations and oversaw significant museum acquisitions. She delivered a diverse programme of exhibitions across the gallery’s spaces as well as high-profile public and historic venues, while also representing the gallery at leading international art fairs.

  • Polly spent a decade at Offer Waterman, London, where she led the gallery’s exhibition programming, curating museum quality exhibitions by internationally renowned artists including Frank Auerbach, David Hockney, William Turnbull and Robert Rauschenberg, and specialised in academic and art market research. More recently she led the global art fair programme for leading art book publisher TASCHEN, building on an established network of Fairs, galleries and dealers.
